Afternoon Walking Tour of Drogheda's Historic Walls and Building conducted by Brendan Matthews

Well kown local historian and member of the Old Drogheda Society, Brendan Matthews will conduct a walking tour of "Drogheda's Historic Walls and Buildings" on Sunday September 12th starting Millmount at 3pm .  There are significant parts of the walls in St Marys Churchyard, at the Buttergate, near the Dominican Church and in Featherbed Lane and Brendan will be taking these in with information on Millmount, The Castle of Comfort, Mayoralty House, St Laurence Gate, Whitworth Hall , Old Grammar School, Franciscan Friary, St Peters Church of Ireland, Old Cornmarket, Madgalene Tower, St Peter's Roman Catholic Church and the Tholsel. There will be no charge for this tour

From his work as a researcher in Millmount Museum Brendan has unearthed many interesting facts not commonly known and this walk will offer a great opportunity to those wishing to learn more of Drogheda's heritage.
